 My parents were married 61 years ago today.  Amazingly, all the wedding party minus 1 made it to 50. Almost all the men in the party fought in WWII before Mom and Dad were married.  Unfortunately, that's not true for the 60 or 61st.  The last few years haven't been the most optimal -my Mom has been in a nursing home, and Dad is pretty frail (he ( Read more... )

Back from FL, finally. My dad is doing OK, considering. He's had no lasting physical damage from his fall. The scalp wound, which always looks worse than it is was de-stapled last Thursday. He's getting physical therapy and exercise twice a day at the nursing home. He's pooped when it's done, but that's good. Means that they're working him pretty ( Read more... )

OK!  My dad, who had a 'senior incident' at the nursing home with his car in December, and was thusly banned from driving to the nursing home until he was checked out by the docs, and the Secretary of State in FL as to his driving ability ( Read more... )
